North Harbour Cycling Club is a volunteer organisation committed to providing members with opportunities to train and compete in road and track cycling. The Club is actively involved in all levels of cycle racing with members representing New Zealand internationally at Junior, Senior and Masters competitions. It is affiliated to Cycling New Zealand and to BikeNZ. Cycling New Zealand (CNZ) is the National Sports Organisation for road and track cycling. BikeNZ provides support, structure, development, guidance, governance and money to the sport of cycling. BikeNZ has created a world first by bringing all forms of cycling – everyday (commuting), recreational and competitive – under one organisational structure.
HistoryNorth Harbour Cycling Club was formed in 1984 from the former Takapuna and Rangitoto clubs which had been operating since the 1930's. Rangitoto had come into being when North Shore and Birkenhead Clubs amalgamated.
AimsThe aim of the club is to promote the sport of cycling both on the road and track, to support cyclists in their endeavours and to provide interesting and challenging events to suit all ages and abilities during the year.
